    Alvin R., New York

  • “We’ve tried many different products and really struggled with insect pressure in our produce. This year, using your Soil and Crop Maximizer programs, we didn’t have a bug problem and our shelf life has been amazing!”

    Enos P., Pennsylvania

  • “I used to run a 125 horse tractor and 3 bottom plow with a 500 pound wheel weight on the plow, and still struggled. Once Balanced Biologics helped me fix my soil chemistry and biology, I switched to a 5 bottom plow and could till 2 gears faster...soil cut like butter.”

The Farmer’s Challenge

Farmers, ranchers, orchardists, and others face many challenges with soil, crops and livestock.  Read more about these challenges below…

Financial Pressures

Land owners face elevated production expenses alongside weakening crop and livestock prices.  For farms with debt in 2022, the average debt of small family farms was $239,567; for midsize farms it was $783,500; and for large family farms it was more than $1.8 million.

Excessive Fertilizer Use to Grow Crops

The US is a major user of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides which are expensive and have negative environmental impacts. Excess nitrogen and phosphorus from fertilizer can run off into waterways, creating unhealthy conditions for marine and freshwater life.

The US loses billions of dollars due to erosion each year from wind and water. This is happening at a rate that's twice as fast as the Dust Bowl era. Erosion leads to the loss of food crops, damage to ecosystems, and polluted waterways. Farmers report that soil compaction is a concern on 22% of their fields.  Poor drainage, Low organic matter, and  low Within-field water quality are problems as well.

Soil Erosion, Compaction and Low Nutrient Levels

All livestock, whether cows, goats, horses, sheep or others, face health problems. These include stress, low fertility, dull coat, low production colic, parasites and a host of others. Traditional approaches use expensive drugs and injections, culling and constant veterinary visits to treat existing problems vs. preventing these problems in the first place.
